Camping

This week the kids were home for Spring Break. We went camping two nights at Sugarloaf in Kenwood, CA. It is only about 1 hour from home but it is fun to get away and try out the new tent! We also brought my cousin Darcy's son, Casey.
We hiked up to Bald Mountain to see the view of the San Francisco bay. It was a long walk. Amber wore a pedometer and recorded the trip, about 6 miles round trip and 4 + hours. We took a lot of breaks and snacked all the way up the hill to keep the kids going. It was worth the strenous hike but my body is still recovering from the exercise!
Remind me next year not to camp in the spring. The weather was very windy and cold, it even hailed for a few minutes! The kids loved that part but I was scrambling to put stuff away, thinking we might have to go home early.
